5) Cut a 7/8” wide band of leather to go around each suitcase edge. Fold long edges under 3/16” and then either glue or sew these edges down.

6) Glue a band in place around the edge of each suitcase.

7) Cut a 1/8” strip of gold cardboard. Use a gold marker pen to colour the white edges. Glue the strip in the center of the band and around a suitcase.

8) From a piece of scrap leather cut two 1” x 1/4” handles. Glue each piece together lengthwise. Attach handles to suitcases with straight pins.

9) The latches are small pieces of gold cardboard 1/8” x 3/16” with a piece of 1/8” x 3/32” glued on top. Dent the middle of this smaller piece and draw a small black line on the larger piece.
